two egg cake
This was my "go to" recipe when I needed dessert and we were "poor as church mice!" newly wed and now retired with SS...guess we've come full circle! These recipes are coming in handy :) This cake is so fluffy and great taste!

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour, sifted
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
How To Make two egg cake

Step 1Pre-heat oven to 350. Bake about 30 minutes or until tooth pick comes out clean.

Step 2Cream shortenting (Crisco), sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat thoroughly. Add ingredients ALTERNATLY with milk, mixing after each addition.

Step 3Bake in prepared (greased and lightly floured) 8" round cake pans.
