This was my "go to" recipe when I needed dessert and we were "poor as church mice!" newly wed and now retired with SS...guess we've come full circle! These recipes are coming in handy :)

This cake is so fluffy and great taste!

What a refreshing recipe! Simple and delicious, this is an easy cake to whip together on short notice.... oh, and it tastes great too!

Ingredients

1/2 c
shortening
1 c
sugar

eggs
2 1/4 c
all purpose flour, sifted
1/2 tsp
salt
3 tsp
baking powder
3/4 c
milk
1 tsp
vanilla extract

How to Make Two Egg Cake

Step-by-Step

  • 1Pre-heat oven to 350. Bake about 30 minutes or until tooth pick comes out clean.
  • 2Cream shortenting (Crisco), sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat thoroughly. Add ingredients ALTERNATLY with milk, mixing after each addition.
  • 3Bake in prepared (greased and lightly floured) 8" round cake pans.
