  Prepare the cake mix according to the box directions.

  While the cake is still warm, using the end of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the cake about 2/3 of the way through, don't go all the way to the bottom.

  Pour the evaporated milk evenly over the cake and let it soak in.
• Step 4
  When the cake is completely cool, spread the whipped topping over the top. Serve, or refrigerate until ready to serve.
