turtle cake
We LOVE this cake! It is so delicious and it is even better when chilled overnight in the refrigerator. I made this year for my birthday and it was yummy!
Blue Ribbon Recipe
We love caramel, chocolate, and nuts together and this is one decadent dessert. It's oozing with caramel... simply heavenly. There are two layers of chocolate with caramel and nuts sandwiched in the middle. This recipe has nuts as optional. We didn't add them to the caramel but did use pecans as a garnish on this amazing cake. You have to have nuts when something is turtle!

How To Make turtle cake
-
Step 1Mix cake mix as directed on box.
-
Step 2Pour half of the batter in the pan and bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
-
Step 3Mix butter and caramels together in a small saucepan. Let caramels melt.

Step 4Then add sweetened condensed milk and stir well. Stir often and do not let burn. Cook and stir this for about 1-2 minutes.

Step 6Then pour the remaining cake mix batter on top of the caramel mixture and spread gently and evenly.
-
Step 7Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until done.
