I got this from a friend many years ago and it has stood the test of time.

1 box
cake mix, german chocolate
3/4 c
butter, melted
1/2 c
evaporated milk
1 jar(s)
caramel topping
1/3 c
evaporated milk
1 c
pecans, in pieces
1 c
semi-sweet chocolate chips

How to Make Turtle Cake


  • 1Mix together, cake mix, butter and 1/2 cup evaporated milk together.
  • 2Spread half this mixture in a 9x13 pan, bake at 350 degrees F. for 5 minutes.
  • 3Mix caramel and 1/3 cup evaporated milk, drizzle over baked batter.
  • 4Sprinkle nuts and chocolate chips on top of caramel mixture.
  • 5Take remaining batter, (this will be thick) and drop in blotches over nuts and chocolate chips.
  • 6Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees F.
  • 7Cool, cut into squares.
