tropical dump cake

Pinched from facebook posting to my page. Yummy. This cake is crunchy on top and wet on the bottom so a cake tester doesn't work well. One hour baking was perfect. Already a family favorite. My first orange cake tried!

Ingredients

  • 1 can 20 oz crushed pineapple
  • 1 can 15 oz tropical fruit
  • 1 box orange cake mix
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter melted
  • 1/2 cup instant oatmeal * see note*
  • 1 cup coconut

How To Make tropical dump cake

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350
  • Step 2
    Dump both of the fruits & their juices into a 9 x 12 Pyrex baking dish. I cut the larger pieces up
  • Step 3
    Pour the dry cake mix on top of the fruit & spread out evenly
  • Step 4
    Mix oatmeal & coconut & sprinkle over cake mixture with fingers.
  • Step 5
    Melt butter & pour on top evenly. It should cover the entire cake mix.
  • Step 6
    Bake for one hour & serve with ice cream.
  • Step 7
    (Note: I used a small pkg of instant apple cinnamon oatmeal..yummy)
