I love this cake because it does not taste at all like apples! It comes from my cousin Tootsie, who is a fabulous cook.

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/4 cups wesson oil
- 2 - eggs
- 3 cups apples, finely chopped
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- JEAN ELLIS' ICING
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 stick butter
- 1/4 cup evaporated milk
How To Make tootsie's fresh apple cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 350.

Step 2Sift together flour, soda, salt and cinnamon...set aside.

Step 3Cream together sugar, brown sugar and oil.

Step 4Add the eggs to the creamed mixture and beat well.

Step 5Now add the flour mixture and vanilla to the creamed mixture, it will be thick.

Step 6Fold the apples into the batter.

Step 7Pour into a prepared (greased & floured) tube or bundt pan.

Step 8Place into the oven, decrease temperature to 325 and bake for 1 hour. Cool 10 min. in pan, and turn out onto cake plate.

Step 9FOR THE ICING: Bring the sugar, butter and pet milk to a boil and cook for 3 minutes.
