For anyone who ever thought this was hard... its not. Time consuming maybe, but if you are a cook you are use to the hurry up and wait that good food involves. I dont always use rum, most of the time I use Irish Cream or Godiva Liqueurs. My favorite batch was made with Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur.

Ingredients
- YOLK MIXTURE:
- 6 - egg yolks
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 pound marscarpone cheese
- WHIPPED CREAM:
- 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- COFFEE MIXTURE:
- 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee or expresso, room temp
- 2 tablespoons rum
- COOKIES AND TOPPER:
- 2 - 3 oz. packages of ladyfinger cookies
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
How To Make tiramisu

Step 1In a medium saucepan whisk together egg yolks and sugar until well blended.

Step 2Whisk in milk and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils.

Step 3Boil gently for 1 minute, remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

Step 4Cover tightly and chill in refrigerator for 1 hour.

Step 5In a medium bowl beat cream with vanilla until stiff peaks form.

Step 6Whisk marscarpone into yolk mixture until smooth.

Step 7In a small bowl combine coffee and rum.

Step 8Split ladyfingers in half lengthwise, line a 7x11 inch dish with half of the split fingers and drizzle with coffee mixture.

Step 9Spread half of the marscarpone mixture over lady fingers, then half of the whipped cream over that.

Step 10Repeat the layers of cookies, marscarpone, and whipped cream and sprinkle with cocoa.

Step 11Cover and refrigerate for 4 to 6 hours, until set.
