walnuts, whole shelled

cream cheese

butter, salted

powdered sugar

How to Make The "Orange Dream" Cupcakes


  • 1Pre-heat oven to 350 and roast walnuts for about 10 min. Set aside.
  • 2In a medium bowl combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, set aside.
  • 3In bowl of stand mixer, cream together butter and sugar.
  • 4Add eggs one at a time and mix well.
  • 5Add oj and zest. Mix well.
  • 6Add in flour mixture to wet alternating with buttermilk until all is mixed in. Batter will be runny.
  • 7Prepare muffin pan for cupcakes. Evenly distribute batter among muffin tin.
  • 8Bake at 350 for 18-20 min or until toothpick comes out clean when inserted.
  • 9Cool completely.
  • 10To make glaze, combine sugar, butter, oj, and zest in a sauce pan. Simmer until syrup like texture forms. Stir in vanilla.
  • 11Lay out walnuts on parchment and pour some of the glaze over, just to coat. Let dry.
  • 12Mix up all frosting ingredients, adding powdered sugar slowly until desired consistency.
  • 13Once cupcakes are cool, drizzle glaze over top. The cover with frosting and place a glazed walnut on top!
