When I first starting making this cake I was making 2 a week. My son's girlfriend request this cake with peanut butter icing for every visit:) I will follow with the peanut butter icing recipe.

cocoa powder
2 tsp
baking soda
2 large
eggs

buttermilk
1 c
oil
1 1/2 tsp
vanilla extract
1 c
boiling water

How to Make The Moistest Chocolate "Katie" Cake Ever

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven 300 degrees, grease and flour 13x9 baking pan
  • 2mix all dry ingredients in one bowl
  • 3add eggs, buttermilk,vanilla, and oil to dry ingredients mix well about 2 minutes
  • 4add boiling water mix until smooth
  • 5pour into prepared cake pan and bake for 1 hour
  • 6I always check this cake with a toothpick, when comes it out clean it's done. I have found depending on the weather you may need to bake a little longer up to 10 minutes. just keep checking it. ENJOY.....
