When I was growing up my mom made this cake but she called it Neighborhood Cake. It is such an easy & chocolaty good. I like it with nuts. It is great to take to a potluck or picnic. When it cools store it in the fridge. Personally I like it warm!!
1Preheat oven to 350F. for the cake, combine the butter, water, and cocoa in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil;set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt & soda. Add all the chocolate mixture all at once; stirring to combine. Add in slightly beaten egg and sour cream together; pour in bowl and mix well. Pour batter into a lightly sprayed 18x12x1-inch pan and bake for 20 minutes.
2Icing:Just before the cake is done, make the icing. combine butter, milk & cocoa in a large sauce pan and bring to a boil. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla. Cool the cake slightly, then pour over cake. Sprinkle with pecans.
