Ingredients

  • 1/2 c
    butter, softened
  • 1 box
    duncan hines yellow cake mix
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans (optional)
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 pkg
    cream cheese, softened
  • 3
    eggs at room temperature
  • 1 box
    powdered sugar (16 oz)
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract

How to Make "The Cake"

Step-by-Step

  1. Working with first 4 ingredients first:
    Cream the butter. Add cake mix and eggs. Beat well with electric mixer. Press dough into a 13x9x2 glass pan.
  2. Using last 4 ingredients:
    Beat cream cheese until light and creamy. Beat in eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Beat well. Pour this mixture over pressed dough. Bake at 350 degrees about 45 minutes or until browned. Cool completely and cut into squares.
