This is a recipe inspired by the movie Steel Magnolias. Truvy's cake with some spices added.

Ingredients

1 cup all purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 can fruit cocktail
- whipped topping
1 tablespoon butter, softened

How To Make the best fruit cocktail cake

Step 1

Heat over to 350 degrees.

Step 2

Butter sides and bottom of a 9" pie pan
Step 3

Mix first 6(six) ingredients in a medium bowl. Add the fruit cocktail, and the juice, to the bowl and stir until just mixed.
Step 4

Pour into the pie pan and bake until bubbly and brown. About 35 min
Step 5

Top each serving with whipped topping. (Sweetened condensed milk is also good.)
