tarred roof cake!
This is popular at gatherings in our small town, and it was also called: Tar Paper Cake. My husband adores this cake, it's HIS FAVORITE BIRTHDAY CAKE. He is a builder, and when a roof is built, it is closed in and a layer of "tar paper" is nailed on the roof before it is shingled. This "tar paper" is the unsweetened layer of chocolate that is spread over the white frosting on a white cake!

Step 3Cool the cake. Prepare frosting and spread on cooled cake.
-
Step 4Melt the chocolate, cool slightly, then spread on hardened white frosting. This will harden. I like to refrigerate it to hasten the process.
