Ingredients
- 2/3 cup shortening
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup good cocoa powder
- 2 eggs - 2 eggs +y yolks
- 1 cup sour milk/sour soy milk
- 2 tablespoons expresso instant coffee
- 2 1/2 cups flour or cake flour
- 1 cup hot water
- 2 teaspoons soda
- 2 tablespoons good vanilla
- 1 teaspoon aluminum free baking powder
How To Make super moist chocolate cake & frosting

Step 1Mix all the dry ingredients together and sift 7 times(7 is my number of choice, the more the better, lighter texture).

Step 2Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy, Add eggs 1 at a time beating well inbetween each addition.

Step 3Add dry ingredients alternately with the sour milk of choice.

Step 4Add Vanilla and hot water. This will be an extremely thin batter.. It’s OKAY!! This is why it is moist..

Step 5BAKE 35-45 mins. Until pick comes out clean.

Step 6This Cake seems like it takes forever to assemble.. but it is worth it. Try it you’ll see. This is the ONLY Chocolate cake I’ll ever make..Store bought mix.. NAH.. Add red food color to make red velvet and cut Chocolate powder in !/2 adding as much red as you want. I use red paste color from craft/cake store.. Powder color os ok to. Am not a fan of liquids.. never have been. Paste colors are more brilliant.
