For the last few years my Grandson requests this cake for his Birthday.

yield 16 to 20 Depending on the size of cuts

Ingredients

2 cups sugar
3 cups flour
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 - eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

How To Make sugar cookie cake

Step 1

Mix sugar, flour, and butter into crumbs. Reserve 1 cup for the topping.

Step 2

Add the rest of the ingredients and mix thoroughly.
Step 3

Pour into a 9x13 cake pan sprayed with butter flavored cooking spray. Sprinkle top of batter with the reserved crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
