This strawberry trifle is a delicious light dessert for summer. Using angel food cake, make the final product taste similar to a strawberry shortcake. Creamy vanilla pudding is layered with chunks of angel food cake, sliced fresh strawberries, and sweet whipped cream. Add blueberries to the strawberries for a patriotic touch. This is a simple, no-bake dessert that can be made all summer and won't heat up the kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 1 package instant vanilla pudding mix (3.4 oz)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 2 cups strawberries
  • 1 - angel food cake (13 oz)
  • mint leaves, optional

How To Make strawberry trifle delight

  • Prepare the instant pudding.
    Step 1
    Prepare pudding mix, adding milk according to package directions. Cover and chill while preparing the rest of the layers. You'll need 1 1/2 cups of pudding.
  • Combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, vanilla, and cream of tartar.
    Step 2
    For the whipped cream, combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, vanilla, and cream of tartar. Beat with a wire whisk until soft peaks form.
  • Clean and slice strawberries.
    Step 3
    Clean strawberries and cut off the stems. Then slice them lengthwise.
  • Cube the angel food cake.
    Step 4
    Cube the angel food cake and divide into 3 portions.
  • Add 1/3 of the cubed angel food cake in the bottom of a trifle dish.
    Step 5
    In a trifle bowl, layer 1/3 of the angel food cake on the bottom of the dish.
  • Spread a third of the whipped cream and add a layer of strawberries.
    Step 6
    Carefully spread 1/3 of the whipped cream on top of the cake. Then top the whipped cream with 1/3 of the strawberries.
  • Top with half of the pudding.
    Step 7
    Top the strawberries with 1/2 of the chilled pudding mixture.
  • Add another layer of cake and whipped cream.
    Step 8
    Then layer another 1/3 of the angel food cake and top with 1/3 of the whipped cream.
  • Top with the remaining pudding and another layer of strawberries.
    Step 9
    On top of the whipped cream, spread the second half of the pudding. Then top with 1/3 of the strawberries.
  • Add the last of the cake.
    Step 10
    Add the last of the cake.
  • Top with the remaining whipped cream and strawberries.
    Step 11
    Top that with the rest of the whipped cream and strawberries. You can add some mint leaves for garnish, if you wish.
