strawberry banana cake
This is a really simplified version of a recipe I was given, using a boxed cake mix instead of building up from scratch, which I rarely have time for. It can be easily adjusted to make great cupcakes! Sliced strawberries and bananas make a great topper for this cake as well!

Ingredients
- 1 box your favorite brand strawberry cake mix
- 3 medium bananas
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans (or your other favorite nut)
- 1 can strawberry icing
- - handful of sprinkles (optional)
How To Make strawberry banana cake
-
Step 1Bake Cake according to its directions for two 9-inch cake pans and let cool.
-
Step 2While the cake cools, chop 2 of the bananas into thin slices and set aside. Mash the last banana and mix well with the cake icing.
-
Step 3Place one cake down, if top is not flat, carefully use a bread knife to cut an even, flat top.
-
Step 4Layer the sliced banana on top of the first cake so it completely covers the cake, using all the banana.
-
Step 5Place the second cake on top of the layered banana and make sure cake edges are flush.
-
Step 6Ice the cake with the strawberry-banana icing and chill to set.
-
Step 7An optional step, because I've been advised its not a cake without sprinkles, give it about a handful of rainbow sprinkles across the top. :)
-
Step 8Hope you enjoy!
