strawberry banana bread

When I made this I wasn't sure it was going to be a winner, I just wanted to try something new that I'd never had before. I was sure surprised when I pull it out of the oven & sliced myself a piece - oh my it was so good & w/ just a little bit of butter on top. My kids, husband, & the rest of family just loved it. Definitely a recipe I will continue to make over & over. From my home to yours I hope you enjoy it :)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups 6 ripe bananas - blended equals about 2 cups
  • 2 cups 1 - 2 containers of strawberries blended equals about 2 cups
  • 1 - egg
  • 2/3 cup melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • - powered sugar - optional to sprinkle on top

How To Make strawberry banana bread

  • Step 1
    Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees Grease or oil bread pans & set aside
  • Step 2
    First blend your strawberries & bananas separately & set aside.
  • Step 3
    In a large bowl combine the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg & stir dry mixture w/ a whisk.
  • Step 4
    In a smaller bowl mix together the eggs, melted butter, & vanilla.
  • Step 5
    Now put the egg mixture, blended strawberries & bananas into the bowl w/ the flour mixture & blend until batter in smooth.
  • Step 6
    Pour batter equally into 2 bread pans & place in oven to bake for 50 minutes or so. Started checking the bread around 50 minutes, may take about an hour depending on your oven.
  • Step 7
    After the bread is completely cooled sprinkle powdered sugar on top(optional) Serve & enjoy !!!
