Strawberry Angel Cake
1store bought, boxed or home-made angel food cake
16 ozcontainer or package sugar-free strawberry gel
·fresh, washed and capped strawberries
8 ozpackage lite cream cheese, softened
·small container lite cool whip or other lite whipped topping
How to Make Strawberry Angel Cake
- With a large knife, cut Angel Food Cake in half horizontally to make 2 layers. (If you have a large Angel Food Cake, you can make 3 layers if you want.) Place bottom layer on cake plate. In mixing bowl, mix softened cream cheese and whipped topping, set aside. In another bowl, slice strawberries and sweeten to your taste with Splenda, mix well, and add strawberry gel, mix well. Onto 1st layer, spread 1/2 Cool Whip mixture, then 1/2 strawberry mixture. Place top layer of cake next, then repeat with remainder of Cool Whip, then with remainder of Strawberry Mixture. Cover well and chill until ready to serve. If you want to make 3 layers, you will have plenty of both mixtures to do that, just divide it out equally. **If you want a red, white, and blue cake simply add a few blueberries on the top.
