Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon unfalvored gelatin powder
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
  • - pinch of salt

How To Make stabilized whipped cream frosting

  • Step 1
    In bowl sprinkle gelatin over cold water. Scald 2 tablespoons of whipping cream and pour over gelatin. Stir until dissolved.
  • Step 2
    Refrigerate about 15 minutes. Then whisk until smooth.
  • Step 3
    Mix remaining cream, sugar and salt. Mix in smooth gelatin mixture stopping to scrape bowl twice. (Fills and frosts top of 8 or 9 inch layer cake.)
