spicy pumpkin nut cake

I created this cake recipe by tweaking other recipes.The first time I made it, I sent it along with my husband to our church board meeting on a cool Fall Georgia evening. He said that everyone enjoyed & bragged on it. Please know, this is NOT a very sweet cake. You may add 1/2 - 3/4 cup granulated sugar to the batter, if you prefer a sweeter cake.

Ingredients

  • 1 box butter flavored cake mix
  • 1 box pumpkin spice or vanilla pudding (4 oz.)
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 - eggs
  • 1 can pumpkin (15 oz.)
  • 1/4 cup water or milk
  • 1 teaspoon allspice, ground
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon, ground, (may substitute equal amts. pumpkin pie spice for allspice & cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup pecans, chopped
  • - powdered sugar

How To Make spicy pumpkin nut cake

  • Step 1
    Mix & beat all ingredients together (except for powdered sugar.)
  • Step 2
    Pour into a greased or sprayed Bundt pan.
  • Step 3
    Bake at 350 for 55 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Cool in pan 15 minutes before removing onto cake plate.
  • Step 5
    Sprinkle desired amount of powdered sugar over cooled cake.
