- 4 - pears, peeled, cored and sliced
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon flour, in sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, in sugar
- 3 tablespoons margarine
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 - egg
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Step 1No directions were included, so mix together and experiment. Try a 350 degree oven and toothpick test. Maybe 30-40 min, at a guess.

Step 2I would say that, with an upside down cake, the pears would be in the bottom. Then a combination of the "in sugar" ingredients sprinkled on pears. The rest would be the cake batter.
