spicy applesauce cake

Got this from my late cousin--love the way it tastes! I've also played around with the spices, varying the amounts to make each cake a bit different from the last. You can also sub 2 cups of Bisquick for the flour, baking powder and baking soda and increase the applesauce to 2 cups for a fuller-bodied cake. Just bake about 10 minutes longer.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups oil
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (do not use extra-fine)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 - egg
- 1 1/2 cups applesauce
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- CINNAMON GLAZE
- 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
- 1 tablespoon butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
How To Make spicy applesauce cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 2 quart bundt or tube pan.

Step 2In a mixing bowl, combine oil, sugars, egg, applesauce, and vanilla. Beat until well-blended.

Step 3Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices. Add to applesauce mixture and beat until smooth.

Step 4Pour into greased and floured pan and bake at 350 for 50 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean. Turn out on rack to cool

Step 5Combine ingredients for Cinnamon Glaze and blend until smooth. When cake is cool, drizzle with glaze, allowing it to drop down the side of the cake.
