Ingredients

  • CAKE
  • 1 can creamed corn
  • 1 1/2 cups cake flour
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons dark molasses
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 pinch freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 - egg
  • GLAZE
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon orange extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon dark molasses
  • - enough hot water to make a glaze

How To Make spice cream corn dessert cake with molasses glaze

  • Step 1
    Place all cake ingredients in a mixing bowl and beat for 2 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Pour into a greased, circular cake pan.
  • Step 3
    Bake at 325F until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Step 4
    While allowing cake to cool, start glaze.
  • Step 5
    Put the ingredients in a 2 cup, Pyrex measuring cup. Add hot water a little at a time, until your desired thickness of glaze is achieved. Whisk well, until no clumps.
  • Step 6
    Pour over cake. Serve and enjoy!
