This old fashioned cake is made without eggs. It is very moist and can have a variety of frostings, or none. It is flavorful all ways.

Ingredients
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
- 1 teaspoon cloves ground
- 1/2 cup butter
- BOIL ABOVE MIXTURE FOR 2 MINS,
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
How To Make spice cake

Step 1Boil the first 6 ingredients for 2 minutes. Set aside to cool.

Step 2Add the flour and baking soda and stir with a fork, no need to beat the batter.

Step 3Pour into a greased 8X8 cake pan, I use a square glass dish. Bake for 30 mins at 350 degrees. Use a cake tester to see if it's done ( when it comes out clean).

Step 4When the cake is cooled, I usually drizzle an icing over it or dust with confectionery sugar.
