- 1 pound butter at rm temperature
- 3 cups sugar
- 6 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanila extract
- 1 teaspoon lemon extract
- - lemon zest, grated from one lemon
- 4 cups all purpose flour
- 1/3 cup milk
How To Make southern pound cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 325. Mix butter on med-high speed until light and creamy. Add sugar and continue beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each agg. Add extracts and blend, then add lemon zest. Reduce speedto low and gradually add the flour, mix until just combined. Add milk until smooth.

Step 2Pour the batterinto greased pound cake pan. Bake until golden brownand tooth pick comes out clean. about 1 hr and 15 mins, ovens may very. Allow cake to cool in pan on a wire rack. Turn the cake out of the pan on to cake dish and allow to cool completely. ENJOY
