During, and directly after high school, I worked in a grocery store that had an awesome bakery/deli department. When I quit working there, to leave for Army Basic Training, I asked Margie (the manager of the bakery)for the recipe because I loved it so much, and she was kind enough to give it to me.

Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup butter (melted)
- 8 ounces sour cream
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
- 1/2 cup pecans, in pieces
How To Make sour cream coffee cake

Step 1Combine sugar, melted butter, and eggs. Mix well.

Step 2Add sour cream, vanilla, flour, and baking powder. Hand mix, not beaten.

Step 3Mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, and pecans, pouring half of it on the batter.

Step 4Add remaining batter and top with remaining sugar mixture.

Step 5Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes, or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
