The recipe is easy to cut in half and bake in a 8x8 pan.

  • 1 1/2 c
  • 1 / 2 c
    butter, room temperature
  • 3
    ripe bananas mashed
  • 2
  • 1 / 2 c
    sour cream
  • 1 / 2 c
    cold water
  • 2 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda

  • 2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 4 Tbsp
  • 6 Tbsp
    milk or cream
  • 1 c
    sifted powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract

How to Make Sour Cream Banana Cake


  1. Combine

    mix for 30 seconds
    then beat for 2 minutes

    put in a 9x13 pan

    Bake 350* for 35 - 40 minutes

    Let cake cool and frost

    (easy to cut recipe in 1/2 and make 8X8 size)
  2. Frosting

    Bring to boil
    brown sugar,
    butter, milk or cream
    remove from heat

    add powdered sugar
    and vanilla

    Let frosting cool a little
    then pour over cake
  3. I added some walnuts to the top it's so good with a big glass of cold milk.
