finely chopped peeled apples

chopped nuts, or more
1/2 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp
2 Tbsp
melted butter

How to Make Sour Cream Apple Nut Coffee Cake


  • 1Cream shortning and sugar, add eggs and vanilla, beat well.
  • 2Sift flour, soda, baking powder and salt, add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream. Fold in finely chopped peeled apples.
  • 3Put in a greased 9 x 13 pan.
  • 4Combine melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and nuts. Sprinkle on cake.
  • 5Bake at 350 degrees for approx. 35 - 40 minutes.
