sorghum cake in whiskey sauce
I remember my grandmother making this when I was little...I love this...It has a flavor all it's own...and with the sauce it makes it decadent...I hope you enjoy this recipe...I didn't have my grandmothers recipe but I found the original recipe on line...the picture is a free stock picture since I don't have mine yet..

- SORGHUM CAKE INGREDIENTS
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup sorghum molasses
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups flour
- WHISKEY SAUCE INGREDIENTS
- 4 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoons whiskey, bourbon, or brandy
- OR A LITTLE MORE
How To Make sorghum cake in whiskey sauce

Step 1Sorghum Cake...Butter square baking pan Start by mixing the butter and sugar. Then add the eggs. In a separate bowl mix the molasses, water and baking soda. Mix all the ingredients together. Bake about 45 minutes at a 350-degree temperature.

Step 2Whiskey Sauce Cream butter and sugar together; blend in the beaten egg. Put mixture in top of a double boiler over gently boiling water and stir until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in whiskey, Bourbon, or brandy. Spoon warm sauce over pudding and serve.
