Everybody loves turtles! The chocolate kind, I mean! I have been wanting to make turtle cupcakes but all the recipes I have require special items I can't seem to remember to pick up at the store. So I took some shortcuts so that I can make these quickly for my family. And you can too!

Ingredients

CUPCAKES
- devil's food cake mix, prepared according to cupcake instructions
FROSTING
- prepared buttercream frosting
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons half and half or heavy cream, more or less
GARNISH
- wilton turtle crunch sprinkles

How To Make so easy turtle cupcakes

Step 1

Bake and cool cupcakes according to package directions

Step 2

Heat and stir together butter and brown sugar until liquid. Slowly add half and half or heavy cream, stirring constantly. Continue to stir until a caramely consistency. Cool slightly.
Step 3

Mix buttercream frosting with caramel mixture. Mix thoroughly. Frost cupcakes. Garnish with Wilton Turtle Crunch sprinkles.
