    all purpose flour
  • 2 c
  • 2
    eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 c
    sour cream
  • 1 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda

  • 1 stick
  • 1/4 c
    heavy cream
  • 4 1/2 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    pure vanilla extract

How to Make Snow-White Wisconsin Sheet Cake


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 15"x10"x1" baking pan.
  2. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, stir together flour, sugar, salt, and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a large saucepan, bring butter and water a boil. Remove from heat.
  4. Add flour mixture to butter & water mixture and stir well; then add eggs, sour cream, and vanilla and stir until smooth.
  5. Pour into greased pan and bake at 375 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes or until cake is golden brown and tests done. Cool for about 20 minutes.
  6. While cake is cooling, make the frosting: combine butter and cream in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat; stir in sugar and vanilla and mix well. Immediately spread over cake.
