We grew up with my mother making this as far back as I can remember. It would be supper sometimes in the summer for us! YUM. This is truly the best short cake recipe for strawberry's I know of.

Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 /2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3/4 cup milk, 2%
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 - egg
How To Make shortcake

Step 1Put all dry ingredients together. Mix in marg. or butter and then and milk, egg and vanilla, mix until dough is fairly moist. Put in buttered 9 inch pie pan. Bake at 400 degree until lightly golden brown. About 25-30mins. Or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm with prepared strawberry's! Enjoy!!
