This is a great alternative for the original Pennsylvania Dutch Shoo Fly Pie!

Ingredients
- 1 pound dark brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups flour
- 3/4 cup margarine
- 1 cup molasses
- 2 1/4 cups boiling water
- 1 - baking soda
How To Make shoo fly cake

Step 1Mix first four ingredients with a pastry blender as you would pie dough. Remove 3/4 cup of crumbs and set aside for crumb topping.

Step 2Dissolve baking soda in 1/4 cup boiling water.

Step 3Mix leftover crumbs, molasses, soda mixture and remaining 2 cups of boiling water together.

Step 4Pour mixture into greased 10 x 13 x 2" pan.

Step 5Sprinkle reserved crumbs on top of mixture.

Step 6Bake @ 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes
