shoo fly cake
This is my Aunt Janet's Recipe and I found this cake to be amazing. Better than a shoo fly pie I recently tried made in Lancaster County, PA and so moist.

Ingredients
- CRUMB MIXTURE
- 4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup oil ( can use extra virgin oil or vegetable oil or canola oil)
- SET ASIDE 1 CUP OF CRUMB MIXTURE FOR TOPPING ON CAKE
- STEP 2
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1/2 cup dark karo syrup
- 1/2 cup brer rabbit molasses
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
How To Make shoo fly cake

Step 1Mix the crumb mixture together and set aside.

Step 2Mix boiling water, karo syrup, and rabbit molasses together in a separate bowl. Add baking soda and stir, this will foam up so make sure the bowl is large enough.

Step 3Add crumb mixture (except 1 cup) to liquid above and mix well.

Step 4Pour into greased 13x9 cake pan. Sprinkle reserved crumb mixture to top of cake.

Step 5Bake at 350 for 40 - 45 minutes. ENJOY.
