This is a wonderful sweet bread that's perfect for breakfast with a cup of fresh brewed coffee. Or it also makes a great afternoon snack to enjoy with tea or hot cider.

Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups - granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract
- 2/3 cup - milk or light cream
- 1 1/4 cups - all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup - unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup - sliced almonds
- 1/4 cup - confectioners' sugar, for dusting
How To Make scandinavian almond bread

Step 1Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a round loaf pan (or round baking dish) with nonstick baking spray; set aside.

Step 2In a large mixing bowl, beat together the sugar, egg, almond extract and milk. Add the flour, baking powder, and melted butter. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.

Step 3Sprinkle the almonds on top. Place loaf pan in oven, and bake for 40 to 50 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned. Cool in pan before removing and cutting into 8 to 10 slices.

Step 4Sprinkle each slice with confectioners' sugar, and enjoy with a cup of hot coffee or tea.
