Ingredients

CRUST

1 pkg
yellow cake mix
1
egg
1/4 c
butter, cold

MARSHMALLOW LAYER

5-6 c
marshmallows, mini or as many as you want

TOPPING

1 c
chocolate chips
1 c
butterscotch chips
1/2 c
butter
1/2 c
corn syrup, light

PEANUT LAYER

1-2 c
peanuts, salted and without skins

OPTIONAL CARAMEL LAYER

1 c
melted caramel (optional) drizzled over top

How to Make Salted Nut Bars

Step-by-Step

  • 1Mix the crust ingredients together until crumbly and pat into 9x13 pan.
    Bake 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees, until brown.

    Sprinkle marshmallows on the hot crust and return to the oven until marshmallows are puffy, check in 2 minutes and watch carefully. Remove from oven and place on cooling rack.
  • 2Melt the chocolate+ butterscotch chips with the 1/2 cup butter and syrup over medium heat. Cook until everything is well blended and pour over the marshmallows.
  • 3Sprinkle salted nuts on top. Let cool.

    If you are using caramel drizzle it on and let cool.
