I am usually required to bring this cake for holiday parties. Usually they ask where the cake is before I even get my coat off! Quick, easy and always a big hit!

Ingredients

  • CAKE

  • 1 c
    pecans, chopped (optional)
  • 1 pkg
    yellow cake mix with pudding
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1/2 c
    cold water
  • 1/3 c
    oil
  • 1/2 c
    dark rum
  • GLAZE

  • 1/4 lb
    butter
  • 1/4 c
    water
  • 1 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c
    dark rum

How to Make Rum Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Grease & flour Bundt pan. Sprinkle nuts on bottom (optional)
  2. Mix cake ingredients and put in pan. Bake 1 hour @ 325 deg.
  3. For Glaze: Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in water & sugar. Boil 5 minutes stiring constantly. Remove from heat, stir in rum.
  4. Carefully pour glaze over cake directly out of oven. Cool, invert on plate.
