I am usually required to bring this cake for holiday parties. Usually they ask where the cake is before I even get my coat off! Quick, easy and always a big hit!

Ingredients

  • CAKE
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped (optional)
  • 1 package yellow cake mix with pudding
  • 3 - eggs
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup dark rum
  • GLAZE
  • 1/4 pound butter
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup dark rum

How To Make rum cake

  • Step 1
    Grease & flour Bundt pan. Sprinkle nuts on bottom (optional)
  • Step 2
    Mix cake ingredients and put in pan. Bake 1 hour @ 325 deg.
  • Step 3
    For Glaze: Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in water & sugar. Boil 5 minutes stiring constantly. Remove from heat, stir in rum.
  • Step 4
    Carefully pour glaze over cake directly out of oven. Cool, invert on plate.
