This is my grandmas sister's recipe and is very old.

    cocoa, unsweetened
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 1 c
    crisco or oil
  • 1 c
  • 1 tsp

How to Make Rosie's Chocolate Cake


  1. Beat eggs and sugar together.
  2. Mix flour,cocoa,baking soda,baking powder,and salt together.
  3. Add crisco and vanilla to sugar and egg mixture.
  4. Alternate milk and dry ingredients to egg mixture. Can add boiling water to batter if too dry.
  5. Put in 2 greased cake pans or greased 9x13 baking pan.Bake 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes.
