Rose's Basic Butter Pound Cake
1 c(2 sticks) unsalted butter softened
6extra large eggs
3 call purpose flour
1/2 tspbaking powder
1 cheavy cream
2 tsppure vanilla extract(you can also use lemon or almond if you like in stead
How to Make Rose's Basic Butter Pound Cake
- DO NOT PRE-HEAT THE OVEN. Grease and flour a 10 inch tube pan.
- In electric mixer (paddle attachment) cream the butter and sugar together until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift together flour, powder and salt. Alternately add flour mixture and heavy cream to butter mixture beginning and ending with flour. Add flavoring. Mix. Pour batter into prepared pan. Put into COLD OVEN and then set temperature to 325. Bake 1 hour 15 minutes without opening the oven door. Bake for an additional 15 minutes if necessary. Remove from oven and let stand in pan at least 20 minutes. Enjoy.
