~ wickedly good brownies ~
We like any kind of chocolate, so I thought I would get rid of 2 bars of dark chocolate I had hidden away from my munchkins. LOL! These brownies turned out awesome. I love a brownie that has a sheen and these ones certainly fit that bill. They smell so good baking too! Enjoy!

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 stick plus 2 tablespoons, butter
- 2 - eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 8 ounces dark chocolate - i used 2 - 4 ounce bars and chopped - can use your favorite
- 1 cup toasted, slivered almonds
How To Make ~ wickedly good brownies ~

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Spray a 9 x 13 baking dish with nonstick spray or grease.

Step 2In a medium saucepan, add water and butter, heat until butter is melted. Stir in sugar, mix well. Beat in the eggs and vanilla.

Step 3In a bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.

Step 4Slowly stir this into the egg mixture until all is added and smooth. Stir in the nuts and chocolate pieces.

Step 5Spread into prepared baking dish and bake for 35 - 40 minutes or until pick comes out clean.

Step 6Cool on rack, then dig in - these are the type of brownies that would be great with a scoop of vanilla ice cream...
