rhubarb coffee cake
I have had this recipe for over 40 years. My mother gave the recipe to me so I could use the rhubarb that use to be in our yard. Brings back many happy memories of my family. Note: If you don't care for rhubarb or it is not available you can use tart chopped apples or blueberries instead.

Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 - egg
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups rhubarb, chopped
- TOPPING
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
How To Make rhubarb coffee cake

Step 1Mix cake ingredients well and pour into a greased 9x13 pan. Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle over the cake batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
