This is my most requested recipe. In fact I have two of them in the oven right now to deliver to church tomorrow.

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 - eggs, well beaten
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 6 tablespoons buttermilk
  • 1 box powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

How To Make reese's peanut butter cake

  • Step 1
    Heat first 5 ingredients together in medium saucepan until bubbly.
  • Step 2
    In a mixing bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and sugar. Add the bubbly cocoa mixture and vanilla. Beat until smooth.
  • Step 3
    Pour into greased and floured 9 x 12 cake pan and bake for 30 minutes in 350 degree preheated oven. Remove from oven and cool completely.
  • Step 4
    Spread peanut butter over cooled cake.
  • Step 5
    Heat together the 1 stick of margarine, 4 Tbls. cocoa, and 6 Tbls. buttermilk until bubbly. Remove from heat and pour over powdered sugar. Add vanilla and beat until smooth. Pour over peanut butter layer. Allow to cool completely.
