red, white and blueberry yum yum
This recipe appeared in a Pinterest post recently, and it stated that no-bake frozen Yum Yum desserts are quite popular in the southern states. When I was young, my mom made a similar dessert called Lemon Delight Yum Yum that was quite delicious, so this dessert caught my eye. I decided to post this colorful version of Yum Yum dessert, so I could make it for our 4th of July party. It looks so delicious. And the red, white and blue color theme makes it so appropriate for a 4th of July party.

How To Make red, white and blueberry yum yum
-
Step 1Lightly spray bottom and sides of a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
-
Step 2Using a fork, combine graham cracker crumbs, crushed walnuts and melted butter in a medium mixing bowl. Blend until crumbs are moistened.
-
Step 3Set aside 3 Tbsp of the crumb mixture (to use in a later step).
-
Step 4Press remaining crumb mixture into the bottom of the baking dish.
-
Step 5In an extra-large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the softened cream cheese, confectioners' sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.
-
Step 6By hand, mix the Cool Whip into the whipped cream cheese mixture until well combined.
-
Step 7Spread 1/3 of the cream cheese/Cool Whip mixture (roughly about 3 cups) evenly over the crust. Run the back of a spoon across the surface of the creamy layer to make a smooth surface.
-
Step 8Drop spoonfuls of the strawberry pie filling in several spots on top of the cream cheese layer. Gently spread the strawberry pie filling into an even layer, being careful not to blend the pie filling into the creamy layer.
-
Step 9Spread another 1/3 of the cream cheese/whipped cream mixture over the strawberry layer, and gently spread it evenly to form a smooth surface that completely covers the strawberry layer.
-
Step 10Drop spoonfuls of the blueberry pie filling in several spots on top of the cream cheese layer. Gently spread the blueberry pie filling into an even layer, being careful not to blend the pie filling into the creamy layer.
-
Step 11Sprinkle the reserved 3 Tbsp of the crumb mixture evenly across the top. If desired, garnish the top with fresh berries. Cover the baking dish, and refrigerate several hours (or overnight) before cutting.
