My 8th grade teacher gave me this recipe.She knew I loved to cook and so I've used this recipe for many years.I've never used another Red Velvet cake recipe because I think it could never beat this one.My family and friends always request this cake for their birthday and any other specialday.I have made 4 Red Velvet cakes in the last month.Hope you enjoy it.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 2 1/2 cups cake flour
- 1 1/2 cups cooking oil
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 1 5/8 ounces food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ICING
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1 (16) ounce box of powdered sugar
- 1 stick butter
How To Make red velvet cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 350.

Step 2Beat eggs.Add sugar,oil and vinegar.Sift cake flour and baking soda.Add to mixture.Add milk,flavoring and color.

Step 3Bake for 25 minutes.

Step 4Make icing.Beat confection sugar,cream cheese and 1 stick of butter.Cool cake completely before icing.
