red velvet cake
This is my moms recipe and is my dad and nieces favorite cake. I grew up on this cake. I use a cream cheese frosting on it and during Christmas I put green food color in the frosting to make it a festive cake. Its a very moist and flavorful cake.

Ingredients
- 2 cups veggie oil
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vinager
- 1 ounce bottle red food coloring
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
How To Make red velvet cake

Step 1Beat oil and sugar, add eggs one at a time beating well.

Step 2Mix cocoa, vinegar and food coloring in until blended, add to sugar mixture.

Step 3Mix flour, salt, baking soda, add alternately with buttermilk to sugar mixture.

Step 4Beat 2 minutes, add vanilla and blend well.

Step 5Grease and flour the pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes.
