THIS WAS ONE OF THE CAKES MY AUNT USE TO MAKE FOR US WHEN WE WOULD VISIT. IT IS A VERY GOOD CAKE.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter softened
  • 1-1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 can condensed tomato soup
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1-1/2 cup raisins
  • 1-1/2 cup chopped pecans

  • Step 1
    CREAM BUTTER AND SUGAR. COMBIBE SOUP, SODA AND WATER, ADD TO BUTTER MIXTURE.
  • Step 2
    SIFT ALL DRY INGREDIENTS AND COMBINE WITH BUTTER MIXTURE. STIR IN RAISINS AND NUTS.
  • Step 3
    POUR INTO A WELL GREASED OBLONG CAKE PAN. BAKE AT 350 FOR ABOUT 30 MIN. COOL.
  • Step 4
    MOCHA FROSTING
  • Step 5
    COMBINE 2 TBLS. BUTTER, 2 CUPS CONFECTIONERS SUGAR, 4 TBLS. COCOA, 3TBLS. HOT COFFEE 1TSP VANILLA AND A FEW DROPS OF MAPEL FLAVORING. STIR TILL SMOOTH, ICE CAKE IN PAN.
