I met Earlene Cooker at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Her husband was undergoing radiation along with me. I loved the 2 weeks we were able to talk and share our faith and love for cooking. She is 82 years old and has been making this cake for years. She told me her grandaughter got really jealous when she found out that she gave me the recipe before her. This recipe means more to me, just because of the short friendship.

Ingredients

1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup cocoa powder
2 cups water
1 box devil's food cake mix
10 ounces pkg of mini-marshmallows

How To Make quick and easy chocolate cake

Step 1

Mix cake according to cake mix directions. Set aside.

Step 2

Mix together brown sugar, cocoa, water in a bowl. Pour into greased and floured 9x13 pan. Cover with marshmallow over the brown sugar mixture. Spoon cake mixture over marshmallows. Bake at 350F for 45-50 minutes.
