Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2/3 c
    shortening or canola oil
  • 4
    eggs
  • 1 3/4 c
    libby's pumpkin pie mix
  • 2/3 c
    water
  • 3 c
    flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 2 scant tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp
    ginger

How to Make PUMPKIN BREAD

Step-by-Step

  1. Cream 2 1/2 cups sugar and 2/3 cup shortening, or oil. Slightly beat 4 eggs and add to ceamed mixture. Add 1 3/4 cups Libby's pumpkin pie mix
  2. Add alternately with 2/3 cup of water: 3 cups flour,
    1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 2 scant tsps of baking soda, 1 tsp of cinnamon, 1/2 ea of the following: ground cloves, nutmeg and ginger.
  3. Put into angel food cake pan, or bundt pan and bake for 350 for 1 hour. Keep an eye on it, as everyones oven is different. make take less time, or more. Use a toothpick to check doneness.
