Ingredients

  • 1 pkg
    2 layer size spice cake mix
  • 1/2 c
    butter, melted
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1 c
    canned pumpkin
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    grated orange peel
  • 1/2 c
    chopped pecans
  • pinch
    salt

How to Make Pumpkin Bars

Step-by-Step

  1. Reserve 2/3 cup dry mix.
  2. In large bowl combine remaining cake mix, butter, and 1 of the eggs; mix well.
  3. Pat into well-greased 13x9x2-inch baking pan and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
  4. Combine reserved cake mix, pumpkin, sugar, 2 eggs, peel and a pinch of salt.
  5. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer 1 to 2 minutes.
  6. Pour over partially baked layer.
  7. Top with nuts and bake at 350 degrees until set, 15 to 20 minutes.
  8. Cool; cut into 32 bars and refrigerate.
